Dr. Mellanda Colson-Scott
Dr. Mellanda Colson-Scott graduated from Howard University in 1998 with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery, and completed a one year residency at the New Jersey Dental School before moving to the Tidewater area in 2005. Dr. Colson-Scott takes an active role in her community by routinely volunteering her time, skills, and knowledge to give those in need access to dental care. She has participated in the yearly health fair, Project Homeless Connect in Norfolk, since it started in 2005. This fair provides citizens access to medical providers, housing agencies, employment agencies, and mainstream benefits specialists. Dr. Colson-Scott also gives lessons on proper oral hygiene and what to expect at dental visits to school aged children in the classroom. In her spare time, Dr. Mellanda Colson-Scott’s favorite activities include participating in outdoor sports, such as skiing and river rafting, photography, attending local theater productions, reading and sleeping. Although she has resided in the great Commonwealth of Virginia for the last ten years, Dr. Colson-Scott is a Dallas Cowboys fan (you can blame her husband for that), and she can be found at a game on several Sundays during the football season.
